In October 2014, after Chris Regan failed to arrive at his new job, his ex-girlfriend filed a missing-person report. Something was off. This book suffered because I listened to it immediately after Fatal Charm, which in my opinion got the balance between evidence and the police investigation just right, also helped by a brilliant narrator. By contrast, this narrator lost flow because of having to indicate the beginning and end of quotes throughout the narrative. I can see that the author wanted to demonstrate what a lengthy, unrewarding and tedious job it was for Chief Rizzo and her eventual Team to wade through such, and so many, lies and deceptions, and from that point of view he achieved his aim. However, as with More than Evil, which I listened to after but reviewed first, less is more when thr quotes contain so much similar content.

not my usual but once again audible plus introduced me to a another great author . the amount of research that went into this book was extensive. some of it obvious, but then the run up to the conclusion took a few turns. Good read

After M William Phelps last two book which I didn't particularly like, infact one of them I didn't even finish.
I am pleased to say this one sits alongside some of his best books in my opinion & I have read all of his true crime.
This story gripped me from beginning to end & I didn't want to turn it off. I recommend this book to lovers of true crime.

Too much dialogue and not enough details and facts building up to act. Would have enjoyed it more knowing about the characters before hand. First time I’ve found fault with this author. I love his investigative skills. He’s the best crime writer around. Not sure if the narrator flowed too well although his different character voices were good.

I was in and out listening to this im trying to stick with it but its very hard talking about books rabbits foxs jason and his book yawn quak quak

I found the author tended to reiterate direct quotes from the people involved multiple times - so much that I thought the track had skipped on several occasions. For that reason, I felt there was a lot of filler, which was tedious.

Also disappointing that the author seemed to really want to make certain sexual aspects (like bisexuality) seem deviant - as though that added to the bad character of the murderers. I found that to be unnecessary.

As far as the delivery, it was decent, although due to the content I felt myself getting irritated with the delivery.

This just felt like it went on forever. Cut it down by a few hours and it might have been better. And please stop having male narrators trying to do female “character” voices. Believe me, I’m not a rampant feminist, it just sounds so pathetic.
