A good way to introduce Warhammer 40k to someone new
To begin, the one issue I had with the audio book.
Episode 5, has several chapters where there is audio corruption where there are two lines being read over one another, ironic given the episodes subject.
The good.
These 6 episodes are a very enjoyable story, introducing any new readers to the bleakness of the 40k universe. There are Necrons, with a really welldone short explanation of their plight in episode 6. Orks being Orks and showing both their kunnin', and fightin' sides along with a good explanation of their cast structure. Genestealers are all we meet of the Tyranids, but again, they are handled well and the episode shows just why, these are such a horrific foe to face in 40k. The T'au get little out of their showing in episode 3, yet you do see the duality of their faith in the "Greater good". The Mechanicus are touched upon nicely and when Nurglings are introduced, I did have a chuckle during the episode.
Even with the audio corruption (Listened on both my phone and through the PC, and both had it at the same points, so it is in the audio files, not the streaming) this is a worthwhile listen and a fantastic way to introduced someone new (old or young) into 40k. The Compendiums at the end of each episode are really good too.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
