Where does Vorpal Blade rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's quite a good sci-fi book and Particularly good for a second book in the seriesWho was your favorite character and why?
Miller is deafly my favourite character in the book, and reminds me very much of Adams out of the paladin of shadows series by John RingoWhich scene did you most enjoy?
Fighting a Crabapuss in the new terraform world was quite interesting but I would say that marines in this should all have redshirts ( Star Trek fans will understand this)😉Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This was a great book that had me laughing with tears down my face at one stage some of the asides are absolutely brilliantAny additional comments?
I'm now going onto the third book and I really hope it's as good as this oneGreat book well worth listening too!

The story of the first converted Boomer Submarine to be turned into an interstellar space ship, and then to venture out of the solar system using an unobtainium box star drive. Actually apart from the drive.. well drives as they encounter others the science isnt bad. courtesy of Dr Travis Taylor the model John Ringo used for Dr William Weaver in the first book.
The Vorpal Blade carries out a "where no One has gone before" mission to the stars seeking signs of the Dreen, the Biological borg race that assimilate other races with plenty of seasoning. Having protected the Earth in the first book cutting the wormholes that linked the Dreen Invaders to earth the story moves on to trying to locate them in space.. in order assess the danger to the world.
On the way they look at a few systems and chart planets as a way to test humanity (and the Adar, an allied race's) ability to survive the hard stuff.
I found it amusing.. exciting.. they have a wealth of over the top characters providing multiple protagonists, tho the main ones are Dr., now Lt Commander Weaver and Private Bergstrasse of what becomes the first Space Marine company, taking pretty shattering casualties doing it. A child of the military SciFi genre but i like it no less for that.
I have avoided what happens to give people the chance to enjoy it. It is light operetta rather than space opera maybe, sad, happy hopeful and with looming disasters. I have hinted towards Star Trek in my comments as i find it hopeful in the Roddenberry fashion, despite a lot more than red shirts buying the farm. Despite that it avoids the "We're all doomed" zeitgeist that seems to infect so much current media output. In the end its hopeful and funny. My opinion. YVMV
