About this listen

From the internationally bestselling author of Ender’s Game comes the riveting finale to the story of Rigg, a teenager who possesses a secret talent that allows him to see the paths of people’s pasts.

In Pathfinder, Rigg joined forces with another teen with special talents on a quest to find Rigg’s sister and discover the true depth and significance of their powers. Then Rigg’s story continued in Ruins as he was tasked to decipher the paths of the past before the arrival of a destructive force with deadly intentions. Now, in Visitors, Rigg’s journey comes to an epic and explosive conclusion as everything that has been building up finally comes to pass, and Rigg is forced to put his powers to the test in order to save his world and end the war once and for all.

Excellent listen

This last part of the trilogy got a bit too complicated in the time travel department for my taste. The rest of the story I enjoyed.

For time travel fans only.

I loved the first 2 books and was really looking forward to this one. For me the story was very good but not quite up to the standard of the first 2. There were some quite tenuous storyline paths which didn't seem to fully make sense, but it had a nice twist and was still an excellent read. Definitely recommended

5 star performance 4 star story

If you could sum up Visitors in three words, what would they be?

Good, science-fiction and finished

Who was your favorite character and why?

It is hard not to like Rig.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I really like Stefan Rudnicki, to me he has become the voice of Orson Scott Card. The other two actors fit the roles they played too. Overall, this combination of actors brought more life to the story.

No other way to end it, I guess

Taking time travel and paradoxes to the headaching limit. Great book. Would have preferred one instead of three narrators. Any one of them would have done great alone.

Great ending to an interesting and exciting series

disappointing end to the series. I loved the first book and premise unfortunately I felt like this book meandered a bit and didn't really have a proper flow at all.

disappointing

As always Orson Scott Card shows he can write good stories, especially when the protagonists are children - or perhaos rather youths. He also has a refreshing look at time travel, simular to the tv series Continuum.

If you are not into time travel stories, this series probably can be somewhat hard to follow, since the protagonists travel back and forth in time, meeting themselves, destroying some time lines and creating new ones.

My main criticism probably is the dialogue, though. The protagonists talk and talk and talk, philosofizing around time travel and other thing. At times this can be a little too much.

If you like Orson Scott Card, you probably will like this, even if I think my favourites still are the Alvin Maker series, the Ender Wiggin series and the series in Ender’s Shadow.

A satisfying finish of the pathfinder trilogy

A real rollercoaster, then just dies at the end. Disappointing, obviously ran out of time.

Poor closure to the series.

Book 1 of the series was great, but starting from Book 2 most of the characters became immature, argumentative and generally obnoxious. I heard that Book 3 was more like 1 so I gave it a go.... while maybe not quite as bad almost every conversation was argumentative and most of the characters just awful.

If OSC had just taken the story from books 2 & 3 and dropped all the pointless childish argumentative narrative this could have been a great 2 book series. As it stands I would not recommend this series to anyone.

A book af endless arguments & childish characters

Enjoying but a disappointing finish to the series... Could it be possible Mr Scott Card was it a bit of a rush to finish?

Bit of an anticlimax
