About this listen

Masterly storytelling and expert insight into the darkest of human compulsions make the internationally best-selling Jonathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware novels as compelling as they are addictive. Alex Delaware returns in this ingenious and breathtakingly good psychological thriller.

Not since Jack the Ripper has there been such a gruesome crime scene. One look at the victim's apartment turned charnel house is enough for Milo Sturgis to summon The Crime Reader. But even Alex Delaware's skills may be stymied when more slayings occur in the same ghastly fashion... with no apparent connection between them. The only clue left behind - a blank page bearing a question mark - seems to be both a menacing taunt and a cry for help from a killer baffled by his own lethal urges. This one will haunt The Crime Reader's waking life, and his darkest dreams, long after its end.

A little Ripper of a Story

Another good Alex Delaware murder mystery. Just one observation, in the earlier books, Alex Delaware was the protagonist with a little help from Milo Sturgis. Today, the Milo Sturgis character has grown and now shares the stage equally with Alex Delaware:
More of a Sturgis Holmes to a Delaware Watson partnership.
I liked the narrator John Rubinstein. As you might agree, the narration of an audio book can make or break it.

These stories keep getting better

Another brilliant read from Kellerman. Must admit I prefer Jeff Harding as a narrator but the story was in no way diminished
