This is a very sick book. However, I have found myself really enjoying it. 😂 The characters are so well written, even though they are pure evil, you find yourself falling for them and actually getting into their mindset and justifying their actions. This is somewhat concerning. Thanks AJ!! A fantastic performance.

Ok... this listen should have been way more appalling than appealing... buttttttttt I enjoyed every devious, evil, dark minute of it. The narrator was instrumental and really sold me on this dark listen. Wow, it was dark. But engaging none the less.

Vicious by AJ Merlin is a contemporary dark romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Allyson Voller. This is the third book in the Pleasure and Prey series and can be read as standalone.

I love AJ's books. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the relationship between Gabriel and Quinn.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Delicious to be released on January 31, 2024.

Allyson did an amazing job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, stalker romances, serial killer romances, or romantic suspense.

This was so full of angst and terror. It was hot and vicious. The chemistry and angst between Quinn & Gabriel is just incredible. The story was captivating and the romance was absolutely vicious!

This is part of a series and as far as I’ve read, the darkest for both MCs. A renowned doctor with a deadly weapon as his signature and the patient that got away. I guiltily enjoyed it! It was so good! The male voice needed a little work.

Vicious is a serial killer romance with a twist. This is the 3rd book in the Pleasure and Prey series and can be read as a standalone.  It's a dark tale that was steamy with some Kinks.

This is Gabriel and Quinn's story. It was a bit of a slow burn, but when the spice started, it was scorching. He was absolutely obsessed with her, but these two ended up being a perfect match. The story has some triggers, so check the warning. 

While I loved the first two books, this one wasn't my favorite, but i did enjoy it more, especially in the second half. I would recommend this novel to lovers of dark romance 


I listened to the audiobook version, which was narrated by Allyson Voller.  She did a great job with the narration.  Her voice was clear and understandable, and she gave each character their own voice and emotion.  It was a pleasure listening to her narrate this novel.

After Gabriel helps Quinn she sees him as a murderer and runs and for 5 years she thinks she’s free of him not realising he’s been one step behind her all that time . When her nightmares get more vivid she begins to realise that maybe Gabriel isn’t the only monster in her life .

Finally, my favorite horror movie villain has been written into one of A.J. Merlin’s addictive stories and I loved it. I enjoyed the way this relationship was built and how things were not at all what I expected. I loved that I was surprised and engaged throughout.
Honestly, the only thing I wished was different was that there was a male narrator and for this to be told in duet narration. While I enjoy Allyson Voller, her guy voice isn’t my favorite, so I found myself wishing this had been duet narration because even if it was all from the female main character’s POV, the male main character talked a lot, and I missed a male narrator during those times. But otherwise, I loved this one and will continue to look out for more in this series.
