Bit disappointing after enjoying book 1

Just not sure what’s going on here but story and especially narrative is stilted and old fashioned. Maybe it’s just that they have changed the narrator? But tbh the narrator is irritating and doesn’t really bring the whole thing together

I’d say enjoy the first book for what it is and just pretend that there are no (terrible) sequels
