This book has my heart. From the first chapter, the emotion is so strong and I don't get pulled in that easy! This is Tucker and Sage's story and it's amazing. We have met both of these characters in other books, which is the magic Claudia Burgoa creates with her stories. Little Easter eggs from series to series, with crossover towns and characters. This is part of the the Sinners in Seattle world, and Tucker has gotten his act together. Being there for his family is key, so he is there for the happy times and the not so happy times. He meets Sage when her sister marries fellow bandmate Rocco and there is an instant spark, but they come from completely different worlds. But when tragedy strikes, these two are thrown together and in the midst of chaos comes true feelings and love. I always find a light in Burgoa's stories, even in the darkest of times, and this book had a light shining behind it the entire time. It's tissues and smiles altogether and absolutely wonderful.

Narrated by George Newbern and Grace Grant are phenomenal together as they bring out every emotions. Tucker is super protective, very loving and will do whatever he needs to do keeping his family together. Newbern has found his voice and made him feel real. Grant comes in as Sage. A little lost at first, but knowing her heart she goes in to blindly to get what she needs. Grant creates her frustration, fear, anger and love, bringing out all the feels. This is a fantastic listen.

This was really slow burn and it was a little difficult to get into the book at the beginning, but I ended up really enjoying this book.

This book wasn't at all what I expected and after this book picked up I could not put it down. This book was full of so much angst, and emotions. The characters were phenomenal and the writing was incredible.

This book was full of so many twists and turns. It seemed like there was no way Sage and Tucker would get their HEA, but these two were so perfect for each other.

I'm not familiar with George Newbern and Grace Grant's work, but I enjoyed this audiobook.

Claudia Burgoa pens another amazing novel set in her “Sinners of Seattle” world, and those Sinners are some of my favorite characters, the Deckers too. Besides the Sinners, characters from some of her other books and series make appearances. Burgoa’s world building is phenomenal, and I love how she built most of her books/series in the same world, and characters occasionally crossover and appear in other books. This book stands on its own, so if you haven’t read or listened to any of the other books, you will not feel lost or like something is missing, because everything you need to know is in the descriptive details. Now back to “Us After You”, this book is Tucker Decker and Sage Haywood’s story and wow, what a story it is, not only did it captivate my attention the entire time but it tugged on my heartstrings too. Their story is an emotional rollercoaster like no other, Tucker has grown so much as a person since he was first introduced, he got a handle on his inner demons and he is finally the person he was meant to be and he has finds the person he wants to be with. Sage’s sister, Sienna, fell in love with Patrick, who the Sinners just called Rocco. Despite his failed attempts at staying clean, they still considered him family and we see that more than ever in this book. Sienna asks Sage to help put her wedding together, and this is how she first meets Tucker, the man with many names. Sage left NY to get away from her abusive ex-husband and to help her grandparents with their bookstore. When dealing with her parents, Sage rarely spoke what was on her mind, she just said what they wanted to hear, and the best thing she did was get away from them and her loser of an ex. Life throws here another curve ball after a tragedy and lands her straight into the Sinner’s world and side by side with Decker. She gets to witness what a family should really be like when it all hits the fan. This beautifully written and plotted story has plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, some angst, heart-rending and gut wrenching moments and a slow burn romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the wonderful narration, George Newbern and Grace Grant did an amazing job bringing these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were and gave each a voice that was a perfect fit. Grace Grant nailed it as Sage, humanized and grasping her every emotion and had you feeling every single one, and Newbern did the same for Tucker. Both were fabulous at performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this amazing listen.

Tucker’s family is complicated which also means that his feelings about them are as well. He found solace with the other members of the band he formed, and they are more like brothers than friends. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them or them for him.

Sage grew up in a wealthy and privileged style but the cost she paid almost destroyed her. She has now built a new life for herself far away from her past and the terrible memories it holds.

Even though Sage’s sister married Tucker’s bandmates there was always a distance between them until disaster strikes and they find themselves responsible for her niece Mae. Now they must work together to ensure her parent’s wishes are carried out and along the way they may just find the love and family they have always wanted.

Both Tucker and Sage’s pasts will break your heart but the way they opened their hearts to Mae also allowed them to open their hearts to each other and that was magical to see. I thought that the narrators did a great job of bringing out the personalities of these captivating characters.

The slowest of burns but an epic ending. Another amazing addition to the Decker family series. Although a standalone, it helps if the reader/listener is aware of the first gen of Deckers beforehand.
Tucker’s relationship with his family is complicated but he gives everything for his “brothers” and band members. One day, when his brothers mess up he takes their side and leaves his family behind.
Even more complicated is Sage’s relationship with her parents so when she had the opportunity to move far away from them and her ex husband she does so without looking back.
They meet unexpectedly when his brother and her sister marry and it’s impossible to fight the sizzling attraction but resist they do. 2 years, 2 tragic deaths and one orphaned baby later they are thrown together. Their journey to HEA is turbulent and eventful but oh so worth it.

As much as I loved the story and the way Claudia wrote it I don’t feel the narrators truly did it justice. George Newbern’s voice although smexy was a little on the flat and monotonous. Grace Grant’s narration was better but it was far from her best performances.
