THE STORY

The scale is certainly upped to very high stakes.

If you've listened or read the other Ventris books it's certainly worth your time. but doesn't really feel like the conclusion of the Ventris saga. As his story is only half the book. its a grand escalation as the final book, featuring a huge list of named Ultramarines. But in doing so loses the tight focus on Ventris and his story and I think by nessesity makes that story far shorter.

Still worthwhile. But doesn't have the personal nature andntight focus on Ventris and his companions I enjoyed in the precious ones.

Excellent voice acting throughout.

I am sicarius!

I was really hoping that honsou or the new born would put me out of my misery and blow many many holes in Cato Sicarius aka the modest! Good book, lots of fun, still struggle with the narrator

A campaign across Ultramar

An epic clash that I think managed to include every named character of the ultramarines in the era it is set in and some from elsewhere too!
The 4th are known as the defenders of Ultramar and i think in this book so many locations are shown. It’s a monster of a book and thoroughly enjoyable although not without its faults.

nice spread of characters

shame not everyone could have been included but most the ultramarines were there.

not sure about the resolution as it could have been cleaner but a good story.
