I really like the author, and made the mistake of downloading this book thinking it was a new book for adults rather than a rehash of the ideas from his old books aimed at children. I can't mark it down for that as it was my own error, it is still a valuable book for children and if my kids were at the right age 10-14 then I'd play it for them because it is excellent for the age group, but I don't have kids of the right age. I much prefer the narrator from his previous books, Sapiens and lessons for the 21st century but this narrator is not aimed at 45 year old men. I'm kicking myself over the error.

They way like a story how the evolution was told making is interesting to listen

This is Sapiens adapted for children. Several reviewers have made negative comments suggesting the text is patronising, and criticising the reader's presentation / tone / (US) accent. I tend to agree that those elements might make this a more difficult listen for some (British) adults, but it's necessary to remember that this isn't aimed at an adult audience. My son (7) really liked it, never raised any objection to these things, and was very interested indeed in the substance. Since he's the target audience, I defer to his view. I consider there is much of interest / value here, and seems a shame to forego introducing children to something so thought provoking for these relatively superficial reasons - if the presentation grates just let them listen to it without you.

Having read all of the rest of his books this was a natural progression but it's read in such a condescending manner it's close to unbearable.

This is effectively a dramatically dumbed down amalgamation of Sapiens and Homo Deus which would have been ok, had it not been narrated in a way that makes the first two titles and their concepts accessible to those still at school. Totally unexpected.

The only Yuval title to disappoint.

I fully agree with the previous comment. The book contents represent a simplified summary of Sapiens and Homo Deus for young readers. Beside that, the voice and its pathos are really annoying. A wrong choice
