About this listen
The respectable middle-class Twist family is settling in for their usual Sunday lunch. Husband and wife Roger and Becky are there, along with their daughter, Lucy, and her husband, Frank. But then they're joined by an uninvited guest...
His name is John, and he knows everything about them—including their darkest secrets. After he manipulates his way into the house, John soon has them bound at their wrists and ankles. But what is the agenda of this twisted stranger?
One by one, their hidden pasts will be revealed, and horrific events will unfold. Bit by bit, the family’s captor will unveil the shocking truth about his motivations. Will any of them survive the nightmare?

Dark, compulsive thriller. Brilliant!!

We then find out more about the psychopath who inveigled his way into the house. Unsurprisingly he is another unlovable character.
I did not read much as although it seemed well written and narration was fine, the whole thing was just a bit stomach churning.
I did not care much for the family being terrorised, apart from the mum who seemed decent from the small amount I heard about her, but the rest of them including the uninvited sociopath were instantly unmemorable and extremely unlikable and I found myself looking for the door.
Perhaps it improved but as I read for relaxation, loving murder mysteries, psychological thrillers and whodunnits which intrigue and entertain me with relaxation my ultimate aim, this was an epic fail for me as made me feel a bit queasy.
Not so much returning, as wanting to wash my hands of and dispose of this unappealing scenario and cast.
Life too short for this unpleasant tale ...
