About this listen
When their ski-coach pulls up at a cafe, and everyone else gets off, new girl Bobby and rebel Smitty stay behind. They hardly know each other but that changes when through the falling snow, the see the others coming back. Something has happened to them. Something bad...Soon only a pair of double doors stand between those on the bus and their ex-friends the Undead outside. Time to get a life.
Author Kirsty McKay is a major new horror writer for ages 12+. Terrifyingly accomplished and blackly funny.
©2011 Kirsty McKay (P)2011 W F Howes LtdThe only hints of anything I wasn't so keen on were all pretty small niggles, really. Possibly she could have written the castle section a bit less famous five-y ... Whilst I love those books from my childhood, it would have been nice to have had a bit more thought gone into how to tackle 'locked up in castle by bad guys' without it coming off as... well... famous five-y! ;)
Then there was the situation with Bobby's mum ... Ok so she may not have been actually involved in the evil plot - but when she figured it out, why didn't she contact bobby and get her and the other kids to safety, since she surely knew that they were in the wrong area at the absolute WRONGEST time!! As I said though - small niggles!
All in all, this was a fun read. Action and humour and the great reading kept me reading much longer than i should have been, and I read it in under 2 days :) Trust me - if you love zombies, or just want to try the genre, read this book!!
4.5 Stars!

Would you listen to Undead again? Why?
I really enjoyed the story and so did my class in the school where I teach. It's fun, fast paced and well performed (although the Scottish accents are a bit hit and miss)
Very enjoyable
