Apart from the "twice round the clock" structural gimmick (the sort of thing I love any time), the story is unabashedly melodramatic. I'm not giving away any spoilers when I say it includes a creepy scientist, a secret formula, a raging storm, sleepwalking, death by booby-trap, and various romantic entanglements. The tale rattles along brilliantly with excellent narration. If you're in the mood for this kind of entertainment, you'll enjoy it immensely.
