About this listen
One hot cop. One bar owner out for redemption. One smoking-hot summer fling destined to leave scorch marks....
Mason Hanks has returned to Rainbow Cove, Oregon with one goal in mind: turn the struggling coastal community into a thriving LGBTQ tourism destination. Step one is transforming an old bar and grill into a gay-friendly eatery. Step two? Don't piss off Nash Flint, the very hot, very stern chief of police who's not so sure he's on board with Mason's big plans.
Nash Flint just wants to keep his community safe and enjoy the occasional burger in peace. He's not big on change nor is he a fan of Mason's troublemaking family, especially his rowdy older brothers. But Mason slowly wins him over with fantastic cooking and the sort of friendship Nash has been starving for.
When their unlikely friendship takes a turn for the sexy, both men try to steer clear of trouble. Nash believes he's too set in his ways for Mason, and Mason worries that his family's reputation will ruin any future with Nash.
Burning up the sheets in secret is a surefire way to crash and burn, and discovery forces a heart-wrenching decision - is love worth the risk of losing everything?
Contains mature themes.

easy listening with a worthwhile outcome
I felt the accents were a little off but enjoyed the story overall and like that it didn't get bogged down in drama and angst.

Lovely endearing story.
A beautifully written story of two men who are polar opposites. This doesn't stop the flames of love and attraction. Together they overcome many obstacles and unwanted opinions from the town they live in.
Unfortunately in the sections from masons POV were either badly recorded or badly edited. It did on more than a few occasions take away from the performance.

Great
I really enjoyed this story and the characters were loveable throughout their journey to a lovely HEA. Good narration.

Love wins through
In a position of authority it can be difficult to come to terms with being gay and it takes a strong man to decide it is right for him. A story of love and the difficulties it can cause.

Great story
I absolutely adore this story, which is why I got the audio.
My issue is with the narration. It was hard for me to put my finger on what I struggled with but I think it’s the dual narration and the significant difference between the narrators. I think if a narrator can do two voices, why need two narrators for just two MCs? Both narrators on their own are good, but they were really different - so Marc’s interpretation of Nash is completely different to Iggy’s portrayal and that was possibly what I found the hardest bit as they just sounded like completely different characters depending on who was narrating.

Pleasant story
I really enjoyed the book. The story was easy to listen to. While there was a little bigotry and insults, the book was not full of heavy-duty angst. It took a little to get used to the narration. I have several books that are narrated by Iggy and though I have always loved his narration, I questioned prior to listening to the book whether he could do a stern, by-the-book sheriff. I was pleasantly surprised that he could and did it very well. I had somewhat of a hard time with Marc's narration. He sounded a bit wooden at times. My biggest issue was when he performed the voice of the sheriff when speaking from Mason's POV. There didn't seem to be much emotion. Overall, I did enjoy listening to the book.

Sheriff Sexy
Secret love
Coming out
Small town
This was a great story of two men who aren’t looking for love, and definitely shouldn’t love each other.
It was really well paced, I never felt it was rushed or lagging. I wasn’t 100% for the narration, the actors were good, just not what I wanted for voices.
I liked how multifaceted the story was, it kept me excited for all of the loose ends to come together. Well balanced between the story and spice, it fit into the story seamlessly. Overall, solid book that didn’t disappoint.

Swap the narrators!
I love Iggy Toma. I struggled with the other narrator as he sounded older to me. I think they should have read each others character. The story is good enough.

yawn...
two uninteresting main characters doing mundane things, drawn out over too many hours. Predictable plot and boring dialogues. Won't bother with the rest od the series.
