Loved the dual narration of Scott Rose and Christian Leatherman, both bring the characters to life to your ears.

Rafe''s daughter Hailey is starting school. single dad and totally adores his daughter, her happiness comes before his own. Nolan is Hailey's kindergarten teacher. When he meets Rafe the attraction between them is instant. Both have pain from their past. At first they agree to be friends with benefits., but as they see more of each other their feelings start to change .

This is a lovely book with MM romance and wonderful plot.

Ready for a construction worker and a teacher? I know I was and this book was the perfect weekend listen! Meet Rafe. He is sending his daughter, Hailey to kindergarten and goes into meet her teacher. Little did he know it would be a man. Nolan loves his job. The kids are a joy but when he meets Rafe, there is a spark of a different kind. Nolan helps this single dad out watching Hailey when Rafe has to work. And as time goes by, that spark ignites despite the relationship of teacher parent. But as time goes on, feelings grow and Nolan is ready to settle down only to find out Rafe has no intention of ever settling down. Where do they go from here? Will they be able to work it out or will Nolan move on? And what about Hailey? There is no way not to love both of these men. Both are sweet and loving, they just need a good nudge! And honestly, Hailey steals the show with her wonderful personality. Nicole Dykes has a winner on her hands with this taboo MM romance. It's the perfect Saturday listen!

Christian Leatherman and Scott Rose bring it all to life with a fabulous narration. This talented duo added just the right amount of angst, and spice to keep it moving and my emotions flowing! I love listens that keep me engaged and these two know how to do it! Loved this performance.

This was such a sweet, emotional & heartbreaking story. I absolutely adore Hailey, she is just the sweetest little girl. Rafe is such a good dad, but he has so much baggage and emotional trauma that it breaks your heart. Nolan is an absolute sweetheart, he is so caring and strong.
Both of these guys have things to work through, but the chemistry is outstanding and the support system they have is wonderful.

This book was sweet, angsty and romantic. Both characters come with baggage and learn how to get through adversity and societal expectations. Loved the epilogue.

I had fun with this forbidden romance between Rafe and Nolan. Rafe is struggling hard on his own as a single dad without a support system. Nolan, the teacher in his daughter's new class, peaks Rafe's interest from the first time they meet and continues to be something he knows he can't have. While Rafe tries to juggle work, financial woes and childcare, Nolan consistently goes above and beyond to help in any way he can.

I really enjoyed these narrators who were new to me. They both have very different styles but they work well together and keep the story going at a good pace. I struggled a little with some of the writing & got frustrated with Rafe's very mixed signals he was throwing out once things started ramping up between them, but overall I was happy with the resolution.

This was a great story. Emotional and very real at moments but a great Hea. Had a lot of fun getting to know the characters through the narrators. They did a great job. Highly recommend.

This wonderful and beautifully written romance novel is not only captivating from start to end, but it tugs on your heartstrings too. Construction worker Rafe Scott is a single dad of an adorable daughter, Hailey, and is attentive and very protective of her. When she begins school, he will be certain about who he is trusting his daughter with, including her bus driver and teacher. He was expecting a Miss Burke to be her teacher but got a Mister Burke instead, a very hot-looking mister. Hailey connected with her teacher right away, so all was good. Despite a few minutes of awkwardness, Rafe could not keep his eyes off of Mr. Nolan Burke, and the feeling was mutual, but they must maintain a professional relationship. Rafe being new in town has no one to turn to when he needs a sitter so he asks Nolan and that was the start of their friendship and the more they got to know each other the harder it got to resist giving into the chemistry they share, smoking hot chemistry. Rafe, who has a troubled romantic history, made a vow to never allow himself to fall in love again. However, must he pay the price of true happiness for his past mistakes? Nolan’s last relationship was not good, and he always wound up with guys who need fixing, so he vowed to not do that again, but he could not help but fall in love with Rafe and even Hailey. It broke Nolan’s heart that Rafe could not love him back. This wonderfully plotted romance novel has the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions, is low on angst and high on heat. Nicole Dykes, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride. 

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Scott Rose and Christian Leatherman did an amazing job bringing these characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that was fitting and believable, including Hailey, the scene stealer. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the character’s emotions and project them into their performance, making you feel them all. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

This is a great love story of modern day times. The diversity of the characters is refreshing and enjoyable. There is the cutest little lady you will fall in love with. A fantastic performance.

This is one of those books that stays with you. There is so much emotion and depth in this novel that it is pretty much impossible to pause. I love how real Nicole makes her characters you feel such an attachment to them and their journey.

This was a wonderful read that will ensure that you get so very many emotions from.
