Vance could literally read the phone book (if they still existed) and make it sound like a work of art. For some reason I love his voice more than anything, no idea how he does it! The tone and subtlety that he uses is above and beyond. Also the breadth of vances work speaks for itself, anything from Alan Moore to bram stoker!! Vances voice and character portrayal is nothing short of genius. Tolstoys stories here are OK too.

Very well read and annunciated, the narrator captures the atmosphere well in both stories. It goes without saying that Tolstoy crafts his short stories masterfully, resulting in a throughly enjoyable audiobook
