About this listen

The final installment in Anna Jacobs's beloved Irish Sisters series.

Sometimes the worst has to happen....

Recently widowed, Hannah Firth is still young - young enough to dream of a new life. When her spiteful daughter-in-law uses her as an unpaid servant, Hannah tries to leave, but she is unaware of the depths that Patty's spite will lead her to.

Nathaniel King's life is ruined when his landlord's son lays waste to his market garden for a prank - and the resulting feud puts Nathaniel's livelihood at stake.

Hannah has only a few coins and dreams of a happier future to sustain her as she tramps the roads and evades pursuit. When she meets Nathaniel, the attraction between them cannot be denied, and they join forces. But their enemies have money and powerful allies on their side and will stop at nothing to get rid of them....

Lovely book. Good mixture of characters and a story to keep you wondering where it would all end

Family sagas are a favourite of mine & it was a treat to have three books to become immersed in the story. Really enjoyable series with lots going on and a variety of characters woven into the storyline.

it was a good book but I really missed the characters from Australia and I hope there was going to have a link somewhere in the third book so I was a little bit disappointed that there wasn't but it was a good book 🙃

Have enjoyed all three in this series. Will now look if this is the final book in this series and if so pick another of Anna Jacobs books to enjoy!

I loved the first two books and was looking forward to hearing more about life in Australia for the three sisters. However, book 3 is completely different and although I really enjoyed the story I was hoping for more links with the family in Australia. This last book could almost be a stand alone book or even have a sequel.

Whilst I enjoyed this book as usual, I think I might have Listened to a few too many from Anna and need a little break. I got a little bit frustrated at times with the storyline in certain places being much the same as previous books. Having said that it was still a lovely book. Anna Jacobs is a great author and Nicolette McKenzie is a great narrator. Escapism is much needed at the moment and Anna always provides this. Thank you Anna and Nicolette.

An enjoyable listen!
