About this listen
When a Hero falls, who rises up to catch them?
Once more, and against all odds, Marcus and the rest of Virtus have managed to snatch victory from the jaws of total defeat, capturing not only Carver but also destroying the orc advance completely.
Yet there is no peace in store for the exhausted victors, for not only must they pay the price for their desperate triumph, but they must also rise up once more to meet a new terror that has revealed itself.
A terror that, if left unchecked, will consume the world.

Everything comes to he who waits.
It’s been a while since the last book, but the summary at the beginning helps you get up to date easily enough. Another top quality addition to an already legendary OG Litrpg series. Lots of action, more game world lore, great characters and a nice set up for the next book at the end, perfect. Narration by Other Luke is as always spot on, really bringing the story to like with his infectious narration. Goodbye my friend, let’s not leave it so long next time.

Epic nail nail biting progression!
This is an epic tale, it is litrpg but it is so much more. The literal threads spun and wove are enticing, making every word a chord of adventure and suspense.

Boring. Absolutely. Boring.
Listened to half of this. What happened to the plot? Why is Learian just hanging around by himself doing little to nothing? Where is everyone else?...What?

a bit worse
the majority of this story was dull, unfortunately. I enjoyed the other books but this one made me feel like I was being lied to by the author.

Ohh noo
Worst book of the series by far.
Voice acting is Luke Daniels using his voice set from his “Completionist series”. Making this series more comical in an irritating way. Overacting and reacting all the time.
And then there is the story. Where did the real life side go? There is nothing on the line. Just people playing a computer game. I missed the financial part and the real life interaction.
This might be the end of the series for me.

how much long winded monologue and internal reasoning. I don't want to head reacting at the speed of thought anymore.
I feel low that waited so long for this to come out. this was not enjoyable for me. i wanted to follow the precious storyline not listen to one man's descriptive monologue for 12 plus hours. this felt lazy.
I am hoping we get back to the good stuff. Lazarus and his group and Oldford but not this. the characters were always shallow male characters but not empty and robotic like this.
Luke has loads of potential with these characters and storyline he can take this far but I feel like this was not a focus or priority. I am a fan but I can't wait this long for a book and then be unhappy.
I'm still in the authors corner, but I want to enjoy the next one. Luke don't feel down, come back fighting 💪
