Gripping story and great writing

The writing is top notch, really good. I would say it’s one of the best written stories I’ve listened to. Some stories can drag in places but this kept my interest up all the way through. Some of it is horrific, hard to listen to really cause it’s so life like. Narration really good too, there’s nothing worse than narrators not pulling different accents off, but this worked well!

I thought I’d twigged the ending about half way through, I was along the right lines but the unexpected twists mean I was far enough from guessing it all! I would recommend for anyone that likes this genre.

Could not stop listening!

To echo what a lot of readers have said, this book was addictive. I was desperate to find out what happened. I really liked the style of the book and the story from different character points of view. The characters where so well developed, I really felt for them. I always judge a good book on if I’m thinking about it when I’m not reading - and I couldn’t stop thinking about this one. Great narration too.

Best listen for a while

Despite working out early on what the likely outcome of the story was going to be, I was hooked on this from the start. Was addictive listening!

First time I have listened to a whole book via Audible and I couldn't stop listening. The whole premis gripped me from the beginning.

Wow

It’s not often books make me emotional to read, but this one really got me. Gripping all the way through. Really well written and narrated. As someone that usually sticks to detective books, this was an unusual choice for me, but so glad I took a chance on it. 10/10

Well what can I say? It’s a bit of a slow starter but well worth a read! Brilliant story, which made me cry at the end.

Absolutely superb

Listened to this story daily on my long drive to and from uni...it got to the point where I sat in my car on arrival unable to get out as I was so involved in the story. Beautifully laid out...initial threads of people’s story delicately interlinking and well described...I remember actually say “uh-oh” out loud in my car when it began to get gripping and I started to get the idea something was up. Absolutely loved it. Great narration. Will be looking for more by this author. Gutted I’ve got no story for my journey to work tomorrow now I’ve finished this.

Not to difficult to work out but compelling to listen too

That said the accents slipped regularly. Flyod’s American accent was odd and at times slight Irish ! And the story was slow in places. A satisfactory conclusion and a tearful epilogue

Took a while to get going

This had a great story but dragged in parts. The second half was better than the first. Worth sticking with, an unexpected twist at the end.
