©2019 Troy Lambert (P)2020 Troy LambertNick a free lance photographer is offered work for a year, all be has to do is visit all the states and take pictures of the city's capital buildings, oh and solve a few murders.
Book one Overdoses in Olympia
In Olympia Nick is surprised to find that there has been a high number of suicides that have taken place in the hospital just as a patient is about to be released. It peaks his interest and and after visiting the local news paper where he sees some of the crime scene photos he sees something that might help solve the case. He just needs to get the police to listen to him.
Book two Slaying in Salem
When Nick arrives in Salem he gets there just in time to hear about all the buzz. The police have just arrest a security guard for the death of a doctor. The reporter covering the case is an old friend and Nick pays him a visit. Going over the case together Nick picks up on something that clears the guard but can he also find the evidence the police needs to arrest the real killer?
Book three Strangled in Sacramento (this is the weakest story in the set , for me, mainly because there was a few unanswered questions).
As Nick arrives in Sacramento he himself becomes embroiled in a new murder investigation when his camera gets stolen. While waiting for a friend to arrive with her camera so he can continue his assignment Nick tried to track down his beloved camera and stumbles over a number of similarities between the man who stole his camera and the man strangling women in the park. Is there a connection? Will he get his camera back? Or more importantly can he stop another killer?
Book four Decapitated in Carson City.
A severed head isn't something that one can easily ignore, no matter how much you promise your boss you won't get involved. The clues contradict each other one saying the perpetrator was a big man with big feet but at the same time small. Nick knows the clues are trying to tell him something and starts to see the suspect everywhere. Can be find the answers with his trusty camera?
Book five Buried in Boise.
The case in Boise is personnel for Nick, an old school friend has gone missing and the police suspect her husband. But with no clues to pass on to the police Nick has no way of getting involved in the case. Other than as an old friend. With no crime scene to investigate or photos to look at, Nick visits the husband in the hopes that he can find the one clue that will lead him to finding his old friend but will it be in time?I
I liked the narrator and thought he had a pleasant voice that he used well to bring the characters to life.
