About this listen

The blushing bride. The handsome groom. A secret one of them will kill for....

It’s the day I’ve been dreaming about my whole life. As I glide down the flower-strewn aisle overlooking the Greek orange groves, in my pearl-encrusted ivory gown, I finally see my fiancé Nik. We look like the perfect couple, but not all fairy tales have happy endings....

Today is supposed to be the day of my dreams.

But I don’t see a single friend or family member. I’m surrounded by strangers.

I have been so excited to finally meet my fiancé’s family.

Then why do they turn their heads away as I walk down the aisle?

Now, as I say my vows, I gaze longingly into Nik’s eyes.

But instead of love, he looks through me, as if he can’t wait for this day to end....

And I suddenly have an awful feeling that I don’t know my fiancé at all.

But then again, he doesn’t truly know me either.

And by the time he finds out who I really am, it will be far too late.

There’s only room for one happily ever after on this wedding day, and I’m determined to make it mine....

i enjoyed this book. A litte predictable from the halfway point but there were enough twists in the plot to keep me engaged.

Enjoyable book

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it was gripping and kept me hooked all the way through.
Unfortunately, the narrators (Tamsin Kennard), adopted a vocal fry for this character , and I found some parts of her narration difficult to listen to. It’s like nails scratching down a chalk board.
This book would make a great screen adaptation.
Ps, I like TK and have listened to lay audiobooks she’s narrated. Please drop the vocal fry Tamsin!! Please.

Great story but “vocal fry” ruined it !

Absolutely loved this book and the narrator. I was gripped from the off and couldn’t put it down. The storyline was great with a brilliant twist. Wish I could read it again from the start!

Best book I’ve listened to for a while

At first the story felt thin - characters flat, chunks of description and cocktails as a nod to Corfu. But then it was obvious what was going on and i had to listen to the end to check i was right- i was.. The mc was incredibly stupid. I did not believe the backstory twist. The story felt like it was written in haste - the whole solution was delivered by the villain rather than the mc working it out. The foiling of the villian’s plan felt tagged on the end and not seeded into the story . With better character development, it could have worked for me but they turned almost comical towards the end. All very unsatisfying. Bravo to the narrator for doing such a good job . I don’t like leaving a poor review and i know i’m in the minority but the author is a million plus seller rather than someone starting out so i don’t think this will do them any harm !

A Predictable and Underdeveloped Story

Loved this, one of Sue Watson’s best, brilliant narration by Tamsin Kennard. Storyline keeps you engaged and throws in a few twists and turns along the way. Brilliant, 5 stars

I really enjoyed this story. It was different from my usual thriller books I listen too. The narrator was easy to listen too. The characters were believable. I shall listen to another of Sue Watson’s books.
