About this listen

Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself.

Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

Though it was written for writers, it has been embraced by business entrepreneurs, actors, dancers, painters, photographers, filmmakers, military service members, and thousands of others around the world.

Ok, a very good friend recommended this book to me to help me change my mindset. This is the first time I have ever had an audiobook sound like it was talking directly to me and that the narrator knew me. It has helped me think clearer and act accordingly. I will be listening to this at least once a week for the foreseeable future to listen between the lines. I know I haven’t heard everything so far and I need to dissect this fully. A great book and a great author. Thank you Mr Pressfield.

Wow

it's a light and pleasant book to read or listen and quite short to get through fast without heavy jargon. I grasped few quotes but not much to take away.

Good easy read

Worth a listen but maybe only once. I did find the long pauses and loud orchestral breaks annoying when listening as I walked. I do like the spiritual aspect but it's not really explored nearly deep enough for me.

interesting but not new

After reading i have a lot to think about and a lot to do. I have never felt so energised and inspired to chase my goals for no one other than myself.

Has motivated and inspired

Punch in the gut! A punch most artist's need. Now allow it to sink in and return for a second read.

Great!

THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ

A great book for artists and creators. The themes of using resistance and fear as a north star, focusing on territory rather than hierarchy, and self rather than ego are very powerful. The underpinning theme of faith and trust in oneself is also extremely powerful.

"The difficult part is not doing the thing, it's sitting down to do the thing. So sit down and do the thing."

Loved the simple and clear way Steven narated, for me it was a powerful message that I will definitely revisit

Powerful words, clear and forceful performance

The book contains some valuable lessons, but it becomes mildly repetitive at times. Myths and legends are used as explanations more than I would like. Questionable comments are made about mental and physical illnesses. Overall, it is worth a listen.

Decent but mildly repetitive

I go back & back to this wonderful book on creativity, motivation & how to operate on the higher sphere. Steven’s nailed it :)

Brilliant! Always.
