About this listen

The Wandering Inn, Book 1, has been rewritten by pirateaba and re-recorded by Andrea Parsneau. This revised edition includes new scenes and perspectives.

"No killing Goblins."

So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours.

It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

In a dangerous world where magic is real and people can level up and gain classes, Erin Solstice must battle somewhat evil Goblins, deadly Rock Crabs, and hungry [Necromancers]. She is no warrior, no mage. Erin Solstice runs an inn. She's an [Innkeeper].

Cannot praise highly enough

I'll admit, originally I bought this because I saw it was long. I'm a postie and get through a lot of audiobooks on my round so I often filter by length.

I didn't even know what it was about when I bought it, but after listening I wish this was longer. I have never been so captivated by a book before. The writing was spectacular, the narration was exceptional. I have recommended it to everyone I know. I was doing overtime at work to keep listening for longer.

Got the second one lined up to listen to after Xmas and I am so excited to see where it goes.

AMAZING

I loved this book so much I bought it twice. I dropped everything to binge this.

The narrator deserves an award. Her narration was perfect. How can she do so many voices?

Fantastic

While I expected this to be "yet another litRPG", I was stunningly proven wrong. Great characters with a good mixture of depth and shallowness makes this story come absolutely alive. I also greatly enjoyed the slice of life focus of the story, contrarian to the usual power fantasies of the genre.

I've come back from the 10th book in this series. If you're unsure you'll like this series have no doubts. You will love it.

This book and series is excellent. I dont often leave reviews but I've chosen to do so because initially I didn't know if I'd enjoy it. I love it. The writing, the characters, the narration are all excellent. can't recommend it enough, like i said i came back from the 10th book in the series because I can't believe I was unsure I'd like this.

Can I book a holiday in August?

I love this book. but I loved the first part and the simple parts best.
I love an epic David Gemmel and I'm not going to lie the part of this book that makes it great is the opposite of that.

I think the idea of a peaceful place where the action doesn't happen but is referred to in stories and confessions would be wonderful.

this is a lovely book

it really is

then it isn't ...shame

Brilliant

I have read (listened to) a lot of litRPG and similar over the past year or so. This book is much less geared towards stats although levels and skills do play a large role in the story. This book is really centred around the characters and their development. I have to say it's an amazing journey to be a part of, it has everything and eventhough the book is very long, time flew past and I was left wanting more. The narrator is simply stunning and does an incredible job, really brings the characters alive and grips you into the story. Worth 5 stars all day.

Fantastic fantasy

wonderful world building, great characters. beautiful arcs. Perfect narrator. based in a video game like world with a video game difficulty curve to what everyone goes through that kept me invested from start to finish and greatly looking forward to more :)

Great series

while not as lit rpg heavy as other series, this is more a slice of life in a fantasy would with occasional leveling.

this format may not be for everyone, but if you like it, you will love it.

classic fantasy escape, loved it

Although much of the narration is gentle and pleasant to listen to, for some reason the main characters voice is far too high pitched and screechy, not great though headphones!
