I loved this book and for the first time ever I am re-listening to an audiobook. Each story was great but how they have been woven together is really clever and is why I'm giving it a second run through.

The premise felt a bit like an exercise in a creative writing class. Just didn’t hang together enough to stand up even as a set of linked but separate shorts. Big names small impact. Good performances mostly but I found it irritating. Having said that if I really find something hard going I give up and I did carry on through to the end.

This is a great book, the entwined tales of murder will keep you absorbed and on edge and the ending leaves you wanting to here more!

What a fabulous way of discovering new and old favourite crime writers. Will definitely be broadening my listening to more books to authors new to me. A fantastic collection of stories woven to create a gripping whole.

No spoilers so don’t worry! I just want to explain that I don’t read lots of reviews or too much info on books, audio books or tv/films before I give them a go myself as I like to make up my own mind first then see what others had to say after the fact. I am so so happy to say that this audio book is one of those times that I am glad I didn’t know much before listening. Honestly I wasn’t that invested in it at first but kept listening as I did chores etc over the past week, I was slowly drawn in and became more invested in seeing how these short stories aligned. I am so glad I kept listening and all the way to the end. I enjoyed the ending, surprised and even more impressed at the piece in whole. That is all I’ll say, I definitely think it is worth a listen… to the end!

I really enjoyed these interrelated stories by different authors. made me think of the Christmas issues that Dickens curated. I liked that they didn't fit perfectly together as it made it more interesting and unusual. some good bloody murder and some powerful women among them
