About this listen
When Willow walks out on her own wedding, there's only one place she can go....
Growing up in the island village of Seaview, Willow always dreamed of a bigger life. Then her childhood sweetheart, Luc, betrayed her and she ran, resolving never to look back. Now, 12 years on, her glamorous London life is a mess and the island is her only option.
But she's not the only one back for the summer. Luc is now a world-famous heartthrob musician, and he's finally come home to headline the Isle of Wight's annual music festival.
As Willow untangles her messy past, she stumbles on a secret that could destroy her family, the island's fragile community—and her second chance at love....

"Rachel Burton once again proves her versatility as a writer. With her signature nostalgia, swoon-worthy hero and wistful setting, this is a romance to whisk you away any time of the year." (Victoria Cooke, author of The Single Mums’ Book Club)
Nice enough story, narration a little hard work

The author sounded like she really bad experience around bands, maybe she was a groupie herself ?
Lots of family drama, relationship problems and mending of friendships.
It would be nice if the isle of Wight festival really did come about how this book has portrayed but I do know I'm listening to fiction.
I thought the narrator did her job okay except when it comes to American accents.

Slow but lovely

I felt the author had genuine life experience of being around 'real' musicians and the workings of the industry were highlighted truthfully. If you like unravelling past history within families, and you want nothing else from a book, this story may be great for you. Narrator did an excellent job of swapping characters and the accents were fair. Slow paced and fairly predictable story, regardless of the unusual circumstances and 'hippy' parenting.
When the generations unravel their stories, the reader is made privy to all plots before the characters are, so it is tedious waiting for them to catch up. Far too much repetition, back tracking and most of the characters rarely know or understand how they feel about the situations. Perhaps more information, insight or history about the isle of white, or even the festivals could have been added as I felt the whole story could have been told in 3 chapters or less. relieved it is a freebie. The village characters were more memorable than some of the main ones but I felt the author had offered some of their own life stories in this book, which made me curious enough to continue. Glad I did in the end, but patience was required.
