About this listen
The Shadow Sister Ryana, the very Shadow of Death, is marrying her beloved and joining his gypsy clan. War took her innocence, and now she's determined to rebuild her life. But religious cults are springing up, and the gypsies come under attack.
Ryana's best friend in the Sisters, Jelena, has fled to join one of the cults, and the senior Sister asks Ryana to find out why. Too late, Ryana discovers their enemies have a sweet and seductive weapon, one that has turned Jelena into her enemy.
Ryana is betrayed, kidnapped, and her will stolen. She must regain it if she is to defend her clan and the Shadow Sisters. If she fails, it means the end of both her families - her new gypsy clan and the Sisters she swore to defend.

getting repetitive
Whilst the story is good, the repetition of character flaws and underlying reasoning explained has become tedious. For someone raised and trained as as the best spy assassin in the world, Ryan's is just a bundle of immaturity and uncertainties.

Good Follow-On From Book 1
Shadow Sister Ryana, now married and part of the gypsy circus clan does not have much of a respite from the sisterhood. Cults soon emerge from the towns they visit with a sinister purpose.
As I remarked in Book 1, this is light fantasy which does not take too much concentration and is a pleasant listen.

Good listen. Enjoyed it.
Liked the first book. In the beginning I found this second book to be a bit slow and particularly found details of acts too long and repetitive. The story picked up again. Overall, I enjoyed listening to it. The narration was very good too.

desert storm
moan, should use blowpipe more
incredible writing as usual by c.r.daems, our young heroine discovers with her intuition robed prophets in each area, and begins to unravel a serious plot to the nation. exciting and turbulent,
but I have to say Gabrielle is the perfect narrator for innocent young girl who whilst starving wouldn't kill a rabbit, love her tone but she also distinguishes wide range of characters, a perfect combination of which I hope there will be more.

Enjoyed another great book
A good mix of cunning, humor, love and laughter surrounding war, revenge and hiding in plain sight to protect family and sisterhood. I listen while laying down imagining to get to the next step in the writing, loved it. Alongside Gabrielle voices her role playing narrative love the wealth of voices. Bring on book 3 please..
