I've done some public speaking in the past, but this is the first resource I've come across that really guided me through the process of planning, pitching and presenting a talk. The conversational tone of the book makes it an enjoyable listen, while the chapter recaps make it a resource I know I'll turn back to again and again over time.

This is a great book for one who wants to improve their public speaking and presentation skills. It has an easy flow and gives the reader practical ways to improve as a public speaker. I have learned and now use many of the tips and techniques that Mr. Faber shares in his book as I give my own presentations. This book has a great step-by-step process for thinking about technical speaking and actually preparing your talk. It's even divided further into sections for lightning talks vs workshop style, etc. I have my first few talks coming up, and I refer to this book all the time to make sure I'm on the right track! I highly recommend it :)

I love this book because it helped me improve my verbal communication skills by effectively teaching me how to treat public speaking like a conversation and frame messages for the unique needs of my audiences, whether in a meeting or while on stage. It’s for anyone, not only techies, looking to improve their communication skills, which will naturally improve their confidence. I liked the step by step instructions and examples. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like.

This is an amazing book on the topic of public speaking, with practical guidance on how to become a better public speaker. Some books are “slow books” to listen and they drag along slowly, but in contrast, this was an extremely easy and fast flowing book that I did not want to put down. I especially enjoyed the author’s humorous anecdotes and quotes on various topics that made me laugh out loud with joy.
