About this listen
1967. Four female scientists invent a time travel machine. They are on the cusp of fame, but then one of them suffers a breakdown and puts the whole project in peril....
2017. Ruby knows her beloved Granny Bee was a pioneer, but they never talk about the past. Then they receive a message from the future - a newspaper clipping reporting the mysterious death of an elderly lady....
2018. When Odette discovered the body, she went into shock. Blood everywhere; bullet wounds; that strong reek of sulphur. But when the inquest fails to find any answers, she is frustrated. Who is this dead woman that haunts her dreams? And why is everyone determined to cover up her murder?

Utterly Engrossing
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
Just about between lots of different dates and has quite a few different characters to try and keep track of.
Also is different to other Time Travel books as the people can meet up with their older and younger selves - makes for a confusion.
Confusing TIme Travel Story

The concept of time travel differs, there is no paradox, or butterfly effect, which I find difficult as simply being somewhere a second time with another you (or several other you'd) would affect the future.
I like how people's personalities change as they both age and experience time travel more.
There's no "proper conclusion" which I found frustrating - maybe a second listen will change this.
The story flits about time with little apparent reason, and for someone who is quite comfortable with stories doing this and the concept of multiverse this is a bit disappointing.
Each chapter is enjoyable in its own right and each could be its own short story.
I think the reason why I will listen again is the performance, it was excellent. easily identifiable characters, making it enjoyable to listen to.
All in all a good read, not perfect for the reasons above.
Interesting take on time travel
