the only flaw with this book is how short it is but my, an absolute master piece. Felt the rush, felt the anger, frustration of the system, the reluctance in partners. Brilliant 👏🏾

I love the Bosch series, and many of the familiar ingredients are here. But the core plot is simpler than usual, and there is less underlying action, hence also very little character exploration.

Once again the excellent narration is randomly interrupted by discordant musical notes which nearly swamp the story. Perhaps it was felt that this racy tale needed mood Muzak to add depth and colour, but all this rank production managed was a distraction. A good story, well read, which deserved to be listened to rather than endured.
