About this listen

Read by the author, Melinda French Gates.

Philanthropist and bestselling author of The Moment of Lift, Melinda French Gates offers you her wisdom and warmth for coping with change.

Life is full of transitions – some we choose and some we don’t. Change is often shadowed by confusion, fear and indecision but in this highly personal book Melinda offers guidance and reassurance through her own experiences. She illuminates how to make the most of the time between an ending and a new beginning, and how to move forward when the ground beneath you is unsteady.

Melinda’s stories – such as becoming a mother, divorce, loss, leaving the foundation she helped create - offer universal lessons about loosening the bonds of perfectionism, helping friends navigate times of crisis, embracing uncertainty in life, and more.

If you're facing a shift, The Next Day will comfort you in navigating that transition and empower you into the next day.

beautiful authentic and full of wisdom

What a beautiful and honest reflection on life and own story

It was great to have it read by Melinda. I knew little about her life and i enjoyed most her way of distilling her experience into relatable lessons and musing on life. i’m in my third chapter so this all resonates with me.

A brilliant tapestry of Melinda’s life.

I loved that Melinda narrated the book herself. She is such an inspirational person. Really loved getting to know her more through her own stories. 5 stars. Hope she writes another one.
