The book is intended to restore self-confidence to night owls and help them to achieve more on their natural schedules, and also to inform employers on just how much productivity they're losing by forcing night owls to be at work bright and early, and advising them on how to schedule both early risers and night owls for maximum productivity to the employer and maximum happiness to the employee.

Still getting into audiobooks but this felt like hard work.

Lots of repetition of anecdotes, whether the Dallas early morning club, the Simpsons quotes and lost track how many times the examples that schools & work lend themselves to an early risers success or happiness.

It feels like the salient points could have been covered in half the time (probably less!)

The audio volume itself kept jumping and it sounded like additional sentences had been added in afterwards, but not at the same volume. Clunky

And per some of the other reviews, the author is on such a mission to address the imbalance which is noble and needed. But it comes across as bitter rather than evoking passion to support night owls. He wants recognition and acceptance for us but spends the ENTIRE books badmouthing early risers (who, like night owls, can't help their own chronotype). Feel a more tolerant / compassionate approach would have better luck addressing these issues.

My big useful takeaway from this book; As a night owl, if I leave activities to mid / late afternoon it's not necessarily procrastination (as I've viewed it til now). It's me lining up work according to my most natural productivity levels. That was a genuinely useful reframing for me to paint my tendencies in a more positive light.

The title and subject looked interesting and as a Night Owl I looked forward to listening. However the content was highly repetitive and as the book went on, the so called scientific claims became increasingly ludicrous. I gave up and switched to another book.
