©2019 John Cawlfield (P)2019 John C CawlfieldThe Money Trail is a fascinating story of corruption in high places, of greed and the search for power, of foreign intervention and involvement, and of computer hacking and manipulstion. It has an all too possible feeling of plausibility, complex and fast moving, with a large cast of protagonists. Although few of the characters are fully fleshed out, there is sufficient characterisation to ensure the reader's empathy and the unfolding picture that results from the Kruger team's investigation grips attention throughout and is both contemporary and concerning. A great good read.
Narrator, Paul McSorley helps breath life into the numerous characters with his excellent individually differentiated voicings, and the text was read with clarity and good intonation. His brisk pace was well timed, leaving an impression of actual reporting. Altogrther, a fine performance.
This was an enjoyable, complex and fascinating book. My thanks to the rights holder who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy, via Audiobook Boom.
