Absolutely worth a listen
I loved the gentleness of the way this book was written. Molly the main character is very quirky and somewhat innocent. And this shows out in her conversations with other characters which makes you laugh.
Lauren Ambrose who narrates the book brings the book to life and keeps you wanting more from the book.
I finished it in record time and I’ll certainly be encouraging my friends to choose this book

Enjoyable start but sadly drifted away
I really enjoyed the opening chapters. It felt a little different and fresh. However the longer it went on the more predictable it became and sadly I didn’t believe the character any more. I think the change came when it moved into amateur detective mode and I just didn’t believe the Molly I had come to know would be able to do some of the things she did. Some stereotypical characters who were just one dimensional. I just wanted it to finish by the last quarter of the book.
I loved the narration however, hence the 5 stars. Lauren Ambrose was one of the reasons I stuck with it until the end.
It didn’t live up to the hype sadly. Great start and a case of what might have been, I think.

A good listen
I really enjoyed this quirky book. The characters were written in with depth and perception and you instantly warmed to Molly and Gran and desperately wanted things to turn out well for her. Maybe a bit of a slow start but worth the wait. The narrator was excellent.

Loved it. Mollys character seems very real. Her struggles with being different come across very well. Brilliantly narrated.

A brilliant read.
I loved this book it was one I couldn't stop listening to the story carried me along and Molly the Maids character was brilliantly written. I have been happily reminded of growing up in an era when that degree of cleanliness was the rule aa opposed to the exception! I loved her joy in her work. I can't wait to read Nita Prose's next work.
