complete lack of tactics during the battles, let alone not a single signal horn to start/stop troops. So many dead down to authors writing during the so called traps used around some of the forests by enemies. Single horn signal saying halt over officers trying to shout orders with stampeding troops, but no author wants to Gemmel the death count due to fire traps
