About this listen

A serial killer at large. A detective pushed to his limits. Who will win the killing game?

Still reeling from the devastating revelations about his own family, DI Simon Wise has no time to catch his breath. A killer is stalking the lost souls of London and leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. Short of resources, the Murder Investigation Team from Kennington Police Station are pushed to their limit as they try to stop more deaths from taking place across the capital.

Wise and his team soon find themselves caught up in the killer's murderous game and only the winner will survive.

THE KILLING GAME is the second book in the DI Simon Wise Crime Thriller series, set on the streets of London. If you like gripping police procedurals, dark characters, and a relentless pace, then this book is for you.

I enjoyed the narration of Colin Mace, who brings out the pace, action and suspense.

Gripping second outing!

Revisiting Wise and his team again for a fast paced story that flew by for all the right reasons. The story was gripping and the narration added a whole extra dimension to what was already a cracking read.

The characters are further fleshed out as the world building continues and the plot was great! I whole heartedly recommend this gritty outing and finished it in a couple of days. Definitely a page turner!

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Brilliant!

The ending to this story was fantastic! Absolutely edge of the seat stuff! Will listen to it again definitely. Colin Mace, the narrator, has such a wonderful voice too.

Fantastic new Detective series

I’ve been looking for a great new detective series and found it.
The first 2 books have been brilliant, great writing, believable and engaging characters and fast paced story lines which I didn’t want to end and which leave you wanting more. Also wonderfully narrated.

Good not great

Colin Mace narration is just superb.

As for the book, I really liked the concept of the story but as it went on I felt it became a little far-fetched and predictable. The characters within the series develop nicely within this book and I will read the next in the series.

difficult read if you have cancer

I've alluded to the cancer element in my title but in no way should this be a negative for the book. as some one with stage 4 lung cancer and who listens to books to relax on an evening there were some difficult parts for me to listen too. if I had known about this prior to me reading i might have skipped this one. however that being said I thought the book was overall good, colin mace exceptional as always. if marked it a little lower as I felt the end was massively rushed. to the point where I had assumed i had missed a few chapters and it had me scrolling back.
