An enjoyable story
Well read and good solid characters. An emphasis on love and compassion- not too dark or grim with some good twists and turns and exciting action.

SUCH a pleasant story - Tim GR IS amazing
Well the narrator is always awesome, - Tim is the reason I listened to the book. And, as always, he rocked. Totally bought the book to life.
Notwithstanding, the story is lovely! It's high fantasy, and just completely 'pleasant'. No gore, swearing etc. Don't get me wrong - I love the first law trilogy as much as the next guy. In fact, grimdark is my preferred genre. But it just made a really nice change to have a story focused story that was easy to listen to.
If I'm being really critical, book 3 wasn't quite as good as 1 and 2. It was ever so slightly less compelling. As others have said, the races, fantasy tropes were all there in full effect across the trilogy. The characters were great. With one of two exceptions. But you can't love everyone right!
If you like fantasy, and fancy a jolly good story, jump into this. You wont be disappointed.

A book I would have never read
I picked this audio book as my first audio because it was long but I have really enjoyed listening to it. I don’t think I would have tolerated the long descriptions of the scenes etc if I had read it but but it being spoken made it come alive.

Excellent story and story telling
Others have made similar reviews but I just want to echo those sentiments. Story one takes a little while to get into but the rest is a really good read/listen.

Bravo!! Excellent story and good narration.
Didn't want it to end. So glad I chose to buy it. nice characters, twists, turns and humour, with a fine rare skill at weaving dramatic bits yet still with the easy mellow flow.
