Between 1922 and 1923, Katherine Mansfield wrote four volumes of short stories:

  1. The Garden Party and Other Stories
  2. Bliss and Other Stories
  3. In a German Pension
  4. The Dove’s Nest and Other Stories

This recording includes all sixty-three stories from the four collections, including a number of incomplete stories collated after Mansfield’s death.

This recording also includes an introduction written and narrated by Australian literary scholar Susannah Fullerton.

Originally published in 1911, 1920, 1922, and 1923.

Finally someone had the briliant idea of publishing the long awaited complete Katherine Mansfield, with an introductory study and a nice obituary at the end of the volume. It'll be my #1 summer listen, whilst the stories are as fresh as they had been a hundred years ago.
The female narrators are astonishing, some of them incredibly young and fresh, all of them talented, expressive and very British. Actually, they are able to feel and to transmit the finest nuances of these unforgettable writings where you can't find a weakish line. A treasure!

Mesmerising collection, fantastic voices
