About this listen
Atlanta's elite gather together at the wedding of the year.
When a high-end hooker crashes the party and ends up dead, shameful secrets of prominent men hang in the balance. The kind of secrets that get folks killed.
Chance Meridian and his murder squad soon learn that the dead woman had a penchant for playing dangerous games with the wrong people. Powerful people—including a United States Senator whose decades-old hatred of Chance still burns hot. As past and present converge to put him in a vise, Chance discovers a hard truth about his line of work.
Some cases can only be solved at the point of a gun.
A standalone thriller in the bestselling Atlanta Murder Squad series, The Just and the Unjust is a pulsating mystery that will keep you hooked until the suspenseful end.

Excellent addition to the series
Audible had the first book (The Murder of Sara Barton) free for a while, so I gave it a chance. I was blown away by it. Gripping and dramatic. So I was happy to pay for each subsequent book. The writing is always good. The plot and legal detail is s fascinating. I really like the characters. The stories can be dark, and a bit upsetting in places, but they are very good listens. As another reviewer said — these are best read/listened to in order because although the blurb says “standalone” you do get more from each instalment by knowing the back story. My only small quibble in this book was the overuse of the word “hooker”. It seemed unnecessary and pejorative when the young woman was the victim here. I’d have been fine if just the Ropers used it, but it struck an odd note coming out of the mouths of the good guys. Chance in particular should have more empathy. Looking forward to the next book, though!

Loved this book. Great writing together with amazing narration. Would recommend the whole series and best if they are listened to in order.
