About this listen
An assassin haunted by his past. Two young refugees out of their depth and in need of his special talents.
John Milton is no stranger to the world's seedy underbelly. But when the former British secret service agent comes up against a ruthless human trafficking ring, he'll have to fight harder than ever to conquer the evil in his path.
After Milton meets a refugee who lost a sister to people smugglers, he travels through war-torn Libya and the murkiest parts of Italy and France to get the girl back. As enemies watch his every move, Milton confronts a group of Albanian pimps and smugglers so dangerous, they could easily make this mission his last.

Not the best storyline, but still gripping

Enjoy that the characters have doubts and are not perfect. Deals with the difficult topic of illegal immigration and show some of the complexity.
Always Entertaining

But with another 10 books to go, you know that whatever the predicament, JM (Smith) is more than equal to it.
What is shared with James Bond is this: JM is a ruthless killer. If he wants you dead, you’re dead. His opponents, on the other hand, want to dilly dally. They perhaps don’t want to invent some convoluted method of death, but they’re never in any hurry to end JM’s life on earth.
That said, it is a good story and it’s wonderfully told.
On to the next one in the series - already bought in advance.
It was fun, but predictable...
