Interesting mix, some unfortunatwly a little predictable however majority very entertaining. Big Nesbo fan and not disappointed with this

I didn’t realise that the book was short stories and Was feeling rather disappointed at the purchase however I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised at the whole collection and would recommend without hesitation

I’m used to the Harry Hole books by Jo Nesbo so seeing the book of short stories expected more of the same characters.
But there’s no Harry Hole.
These stories are more dystopian. Based in a world that’s falling apart or parallel. With people surviving the best they can in cruel worlds. Having been brought up with the Tales of the Unexpected in my teens I can’t say I didn’t always get surprised by the “twist” but even where I guessed the twist it was better written than my basic idea so still held some surprise.
The book is some multi chapter novella style stories and a few short stories and the type where I know I’m going to reread to study how each step artfully led to the conclusion.
I’m slightly surprised I ended having such empathy for the very flawed people in the stories and wondered how much of human morality would survive in such a world which doesn’t feel so far off in today’s political atmosphere… is it such a thin veneer of civilisation as the author suggests?

Loved all Jo Nesbo’s books and this Jealousy collection is quite something. I’m minded to go straight back to the start and enjoy all again, and again.

Jo Nesbo - brilliant author
Sean Barratt - my most favourite narrator of all time.
Short stories are something I would normally pass by and to be honest I didn't realise that
The Jealousy Man was a compilation - I saw
"New Jo Nesbo" and ordered it straight away.
I was not disappointed in the slightest.

Completely gripping stories. I defy anyone to just dip in - once started it was impossible to stop listening. Supremely well drawn characters and plot twists that defy presumption. Can’t wait to read more from this incredible writer.
