The sinister Karim has ham actor lines and plays the villain throughout. The plot is meandering and repetitive with no tension being built before the handful of (unlikely) deaths.
The narrator irritated me by always lowering his voice to an almost inaudible pitch when reading the female parts and generally made the whole story pretty lifeless. His voice for Karim was so laughably Middle Eastern villainous it made me reach for the fast forward button even when I was half asleep.
Really, this book is a bit of a turkey. Don’t waste a credit on it.
