About this listen

From the best-selling author of The Alice Network

On the icy edge of Soviet Russia, bold and reckless Nina Markova joins the infamous Night Witches - an all-female bomber regiment - wreaking havoc on Hitler’s Eastern Front. But when she is downed behind enemy lines and thrown across the path of a lethal Nazi murderess known as the Huntress, Nina must use all her wits to survive.

British war correspondent Ian Graham has witnessed the horrors of war from Omaha Beach to the Nuremburg Trials. He abandons journalism after the war to become a Nazi hunter, yet one target eludes him: the Huntress. Fierce, disciplined Ian must join forces with reckless, cocksure Nina, the only witness to escape the Huntress alive.

In post-war Boston, 17-year-old Jordan McBride is delighted when her long-widowed father brings home a fiancée. But Jordan grows increasingly disquieted by the soft-spoken German widow who seems to be hiding something. Delving into her new stepmother’s past, Jordan slowly realizes that a Nazi killer may be hiding in plain sight.

Shining a light on a shadowy corner of history, The Huntress is an epic, sweeping Second World War novel from the New York Times best-selling author of The Alice Network.

Had a bit of trouble with the multiple storylines (I am usually doing something else while listening and I can lose track), and at times I didn’t want to switch storylines as things got interesting, but it was worth sticking with it, as they all tied together brilliantly. A satisfying story, well written, interesting characters & intriguing plot. Wonderfully performed by Saskia, my new favourite narrator. Would recommend!

My 2nd Kate Quinn & I want more!

Intertwining and then combining timelines and characters, Kate Quinn skilfully brings together 3 separate groups of characters as the story builds to an excellent finale. The details and asides for each character are wonderfully done, bringing each one to life in rich detail, (including a brief link to a character from the Alice Network too). A very good read.

Wonderfully written and a Gripping Story

Compelling, addictive, gripping! What a story. Kate Quinn has become my new favourite author. After The Alice Network, I couldn’t imagine another book ever coming close. But it did!

The story is so clever and switching between lives to provide context just amplifies the emotion and feelings you develop for each character.

Beautifully performed; what a talent to truly bring the story to life. It was like listening to a play.

Bravo and thank you both for writing and performing such an unforgettable story. I’m now onto my third book…

Kate Quinn is phenomenal when writing these war and post war dramas. The narrative swept along and each character drew the reader/listener in. The narrator pulled off each character beautifully.

I thought the author brought out each character’s strengths and frailties highlighting the spectrum of humanity - how uniquely and wonderfully we are made!

The story is enthralling but it is brought to life by the brilliance of the narrator. Absolutely gripping. Thank you.
