Critic reviews

"Both a classic whodunnit and a very contemporary psychological thriller that left me guessing right to the end – a wonderful read." (Kate Mosse)

"Great fun. Lucy Foley is really very clever." (Anthony Horowitz)

"A very modern Agatha Christie for the new roaring 20s...secrets and lies at every turn." (Sarah Pinborough)

I liked the way we found out about each person’s story and how the central plot was revealed a bit like peeling an onion, layer by layer, drawing you in to the centre and denouement.

All I can say is use a credit - it’s fab and you won’t regret it.

Far better than the negative reviews would have you believe!

Initially it felt that this was going to be a chick lit book, but it turned out to be an excellent thriller with some truly shocking plot twists. Kinda disappointed to finish it which, to me, is a sure sign of a good book.

Not chick lit - so much more!

Although I must say this was not as good as "The hunting party", it was still a real page turner and well worth a listen!
The problem for me was the way everything was all tied up and there were just so many unbelievable coincidences.

A real page turner, but.........

Really enjoyed this thriller. Best bits of escapism, thriller and whodunnit. Acting was superb, best I've heard in an audio book. Recommend

Ripping Tale, brilliant acting

Great book that kept me engaged from start to finish. Don’t expect an intricate crime novel, as it’s much more lighthearted and more focused on the back story, which is what I like about it

Gripping and entertaining

This book had me hooked. I loved how the story unfolded and how we got snippets of info from each guest, however I feel the ending let it down. The story built and built with everyone's frustrations and anger growing towards the victim but then the body was found and the killer was revealed more or less stright away which was dissapointing. This book left me wanting more but not in a good way.
Having said that its enjoyable and the naration is excellent

Had me hooked but the ending let it down
