About this listen

They'll do anything to outsmart each other. Anything, except fall in love.

Kim Hani - the once-terrible gumiho known as the Scarlet Fox - spends her days working at a café and trying not to let a certain customer irk her.

Seokga - a trickster god thrown from the heavens for his attempt at a coup - spends his days hunting demons and irking a particular gumiho.

When a demon of darkness escapes the underworld, and the Scarlet Fox emerges from hiding before quickly vanishing, Seokga is offered a chance at redemption: kill them both, and his sins will be forgiven.

But Hani is prepared to do anything to prevent Seokga from bringing her to justice, even trick her way into his investigation. Anything, that is - except fall in love . . .©2024 Sophie Kim (P)2024 Hodder & Stoughton Limited

So close to being good but a bit meh

I liked the concept but it was just missing something. The first half of super slow! And also once again there is no build up of a relationship it just seems to happen really quickly and I hate that ! The first half could have been spent on that !!!

love a grumpy fallen god!

its been a long time since a story and characters got me hooked so fast, i finished the whole book in 2 days, the main characters had me giggling (and crying). i found that id guessed the big bad at the end quite early on, but i cant fault this book at all. the hopeless romantic in me was left feeling broken but hopeful. absolutely beautiful

I love it. I love it. As a kdrama addict, this book right up my alley. I don't want to end 😢

So immature. Reads very YA and fenficy

For such old immortal beings they behave like 10 year old children throwing tantrums. It’s not sexy. It’s not fun. The chemistry just isn’t there. Forced proximity is meant to be fun but this ain’t it. I don’t know who this was written for as the detailed murder make it too adult for YA but the relationships are for 10 year olds.
