I have to say english its not mine first language. by the way this book same as previous one was completely understandable for me. look like I have another best British writer. she always surprise me after this book I have no question I was fully satisfied. its heart breaking story, reminding to us how important is to have knowledge of our friends family members back ground.

Cathy Glass's fostering memoirs are well written and very moving. I love the little details Cathy gives that has made me fall in love with each and every child she writes about and her own family. I have listened to every book at least 3 times. They give an insight into the world of fostering, adoption and parenting that has, I believed made me a better teacher and parent - more patient, more understanding and generally more aware. Along with other fostering memoirs, these books have inspired my mum to consider a fostering carer and I hope to foster once my own children are older. Thank you Cathy

It's writing to Cathy's normal high standard but as a story rather than time-lined as the memoirs are.

My only complaint, and believe me it's minor, is that with Danica narrating I got confused occasionally that it was fiction based on a true story.

Having said that, the narration was to its normal extraordinary standard so I am not really complaining. These two really are the perfect partnership for me.

Minor spoilerish warning

I quite enjoyed this story and listened to the whole thing within a few days. There is one issue I do have however, for an author who is meant to be a foster carer (all books I have also enjoyed) it's a bit worrying how unrealistic the legal side of this was. If a child is taken to a doctor with ANY sign or suspicion or abuse they would be required to report it, yet in the story it is for some reason left for the parents to do so.

The subject matter of this book is disturbing, but very well written. You can feel the anguish of a little girl wronged, and then she discovered the truth so long hidden. Brilliantly narrated.
