A stonking sequel which sucks you straight in to the 'day after'or at least a short while after the original book. Detailed and exciting characters, vivid descriptions, mystery, intrigue, love, passion, comedy. This book has the lot. I didn't want to stop listening. Well worth it. Can't wait to read the third book now.

I'm a long distance runner and have gobbled up the miles recently listening to both of these books. They are beautifully written and narrated, and one is gripped by both the relationships and the storyline in turn. And, they've certainly helped my training - I haven't wanted to stop running 'just one more chapter, then I'll stop'! Hurry up number 3.

AMAZING BOOK! even better than the first.

It's quite difficult to follow the Swedish names, as the plot moves faster, and I found myself rewinding my ipod a few times - but it was a gripping, intricate story, which left a cliff hanger - so I'm desperate for the next book!

The whole "The Girl..." series is very very absorbing. I lost track of time and wait in the garage for a pause to start for tomorrow. There are same issues not settle through the series, you have an episode here and there leads you to nowhere, but never the less it makes driving my favourite pass time!

following the girl with the dragon tattoo the story continues with Mika Blomquist and Lizabeth. Excellent plotting with many twists and turns. You need to "get your ear tuned" to all the Swedish names as some sound similar and the plot is so intricate you can miss a vital piece. I wanted to listen all the time, but had to ration myself as I didn't want it to end! Roll on the third of the trilogy.

Lived up to expectations and can't wait for vol 3.

I read the trilogy when they were released and have enjoyed the films. I've decided to listen to the audio books and have only one complaint. Why does Silanda sound like a cockney barrow boy? Narrations ok just some of his accents are I'll chosen. To be fair you get used to it pretty quickly

Part 2 of Stieg Larsson's excellent Trilogy superbly read by Martin Wenner. Where is part 3... I can't wait.

nordic suspense

I just couldn't put this down...in the last 24 hours I've found myself finding excuses to iron clothes, wash the dishes, sweep the porch etc etc - any mindless task as long as I was left alone to listen to this book. And I am not a mystery/suspense fan. I normally go for high quality literary fiction and dramas.
The story, like the first book in this series, centers on the brilliant but antisocial computer hacker "The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo" who becomes mixed up in a series of murders, and so the suspense builds. But it's not just the gripping storyline that makes the writing excellent but rather the characters who are interesting and multi faceted. I'd say that this second book in the trilogy was even better than the first which I also liked. It can be read separately and understood perfectly well although I'd advise reading them in order if possible. The narration was really good - he managed to get his tongue round the difficult Swedish names that I promptly forgot (I had to rewind a few times as the plot gets quite complicated in parts). He also acted out an impressive variety of different accents and voices for the different characters.
The abridgement was seamless - had the unabridged version been available I would have taken it as it would have afforded me more hours of pure pleasure listening to this book.
In summary, first rate for its genre - even if you're not a suspense fan you won't regret trying this one. Roll on Jan 2010 for the next part!
