Mma Ramotswe, who became engaged to Mr J.L.B. Matekoni at the end of the first audiobook, is still engaged. She wonders when a day for the wedding will be named, but she is anxious to avoid putting too much pressure on her fiancé. For indeed he has other things on his mind, notably a frightening request made of him by Mma Potokwani, pushy matron of the Orphan Farm.

Mma Ramotswe herself has weighty matters on her mind. She has been approached by a wealthy lady, whose fortune comes from successful hair-braiding salons, and has been asked to check up on several suitors. Are these men just interested in her money? This may be difficult to find out, but Mma Ramotswe is, of course, a very intuitive lady.

Another delicious visit with Mmas Ramotswe, Potokani and Makutsi up to their gentle investigative, secretarial shenanigans and a very surprise occasion indeed! The mention of my beloved Ngozi Sikaleli Africa has me in tears. I miss home desperately, and this is my main link. I cannot than Ms Adjoa Andoh for her spectacular linguistics. I've downloaded the next one to listen to once I post this review!

An engaging and colourful story, beautifully narrated. The whole series is warm, well written and entertaining, but I think this has been my favourite so far, with plenty of fun and humour. I even loved the little musical pieces. Highly recommended!

It's been a long engagement for Mma Ramotswe, her fiancé doesn't seem to want to get married anytime soon... or any year soon. And not even a fright that could end his life seems to do the trick and push him to get it over with. Also with love issues, a new client client asks Ramotswe to talk to a couple of men to find out if they really love her or if they are just after her money.

This book was a bit slower than what I was expecting, which coming from this series is saying a lot. Nevertheless, it's always a pleasure to listen to Adjoa Andoh, I feel she could relax me even during an apocalypse. The plot for these stories is always simple and nice, but this time it seemed like nothing was happening for a very long time. It had a good ending, though.
