About this listen
I never thought I'd go to college a virgin, but unless something changes—and fast—that's what's going to happen.
In comes Harden Hart, my all-American boy-next-door best friend with an offer to help in a way I'd never imagined.
The boy, who turned everything he touched to gold, had a filthy side to him I'd never seen. Oh, and did I mention he's straight?
We could keep this fun, but we had to hide it from both our fathers. We could smile for the cameras, focus on winning the state swimming championship and maintain Harden's image. Easy enough, right?
Only Harden didn't want to hide. His addiction to our not-so-private hook-ups put everything at risk with his father's planned presidential run, and I risked losing my best friend if anyone found out.
But the biggest risk of all: the risk of breaking my own heart by falling for someone who was never mine to begin with.
Maybe love just isn't in the equation.

(Also I know they forgive the dad at the end but I don’t think I could, also where’s the mother in this she was also bad, maybe not has much as the father but she still wasn’t very tactful towards her child’s happiness.)
Woah!!

The friendship that Vance and Harden have is so strong, and when it turns to love it's an unbreakable bond they have despite the unfair circumstances they find themselves in.
Harden wears his heart (and all his other feelings) on his sleeve, while Vance is often stuck in Jo's own head over-analysing his own emotions and situations and this often leads to miscommunication between them. Thankfully Harden always makes Vance speak his mind and all is well again.
The HEA is so sweet, I'm so happy they were able to work out a way to be together, although I definitely couldn't have forgiven the dad and mom for what they did!
Narration by (a new to me performer) Alexander Amado was top notch, I loved his narrative style! I could differentiate between characters easily and all character voices were a delight to listen to. Will definitely read the author and narrator's other works!
Beautiful, intense love story.

However, unlike IRL, Harden’s father eventually did the right thing, and also apologised to those who needed it.
The narrator, Alexander Amado, is a good voice actor - each character had their own sound, which kept the story flowing smoothly.
JR Gray has written a lovely, though a little angsty, story of teens in love.
Analogous
