About this listen

The future arrived, and it wore the face of a nightmare. The sentient starship Echo vanished on a mission to colonize a new world. Now, he's back–but Earth is on its knees.

A brutal alien empire, the Flaxens, are mercilessly exterminating humanity. A colossal metallic cylinder casts an ominous shadow over Jupiter, controlled by an enigmatic AI. And the solar system teeters on the brink of collapse.

Captain Kip Eastcott and the crew of Echo must unravel the mysteries of a forgotten past and fight for a future they may never see. But their greatest threat could be the one they trust the most: Serilda, a captivating young woman raised in a Flaxen concentration camp with a dangerous secret that could destroy them all.

Can they defy time, tyranny, and treachery, or will humanity fall to the Flaxens?

Interesting world and concepts

I really loved the concept of the ship AIs and the description of the world history and development as captain discovers it. I would recommend this to anyone who loves sci-fi and a nice paced action. Characters are a bit one dimensional and there is one element of the plot that felt like a fantasy instead of sci-fi, but still it got me cheering for the good guys and is overall very a enyojable book. I am looking forward to a sequel.

Well that was unexpected.. .

This is one of those books that stays with you for days after you finish. There were some actually brand new scifi concepts. It is both dark and wonderfully hopeful at times. There were atrocities The Flaxens committed which made me pause the book to recover. Beautiful writing style and solidly narrated. There is once character you will absolutely adore, I guarantee it. My only small gripe would be that the Narrator could be better at doing male voices, but I'm just being picky at this point.

Listen now for a truly original sci-fi experience.

A solid debut

This was a pretty fun listen! Interesting story with a bunch of Sci Fi ideas thrown in! The only down for me was the narrator. Some of the voice choices were a bit odd.

intresting story idea

received this book for a honest review. from the trailer it seemed really intresting and I liked the concept. lisening it is rather slow going, while lisening I felt a little list at times as there is time travel involved at the start but I struggle to stay grasped into the book possibly due to the narration. I will return to this book again flr another lisen when I am not doing other things as I feel this needs full attention rather than light lisen while working
