About this listen

The Fire is book two in Rick Fuller's Manchester Trilogy.

Rick Fuller, a once decorated SAS hero, now Manchester hit man, likes nothing better than disposing of his employer's rivals in return for a suitcase of cash. His spectacular fall from grace and obsession to discover the identity of the IRA terrorist who gunned down his wife all but destroyed him.

Ten years have passed since that fateful day, and Ireland has seen many changes. The man who slaughtered Cathy Fuller on her doorstep in Hereford in 1996 is now the First Minister of the Province, but Fuller is more determined than ever to get his revenge.

The characters are well built up; with realistic flaws. Captivating story line which kept me hooked. Loved it.

Brilliant page turner

Really good story, I really enjoy the format with each persons story overlapping but never repeating. Second book in the series and somehow just as good as the first!! Top stuff!!

Just great!!!

Quite a good storyline. The narrator was pretty good, though his South African accents were dreadful. They sounded more like a bad impression of Sean Connery for some reason. Overall though, he got across the different characters. I like Lauren’s character, and this lays the foundation for an interesting follow up book.

Good story

I love the perspectives provided by the writer and it ratchets up the tension. This was an explosive book full on!

...the thing I really like, and is very difficult to get used to, are how quickly things go bad and how quickly the arch villain gets his...too often is the villain lady and too often do things go exactly as planned in so many novels of this ilk. Quite refreshing and a fine read...

very good books these...

a really good installation on the Rik Fuller series. well read and delivered, but sometimes the volume for effect on some parts, when listening in a car, means I can't hear it too well. a minor point though - this is an awesome story!

full on story!

Really enjoyed this audio book. It didn’t concentrate on the designer clothes and flash cars that annoyed me in the first book. The storyline was excellent and kept me involved the whole time.

Great second book in the series
